Overview of Amlodipine Tablets:
AMLOBIO Tablets contains Amlodipine. Amlodipine is an effective anti-hypertensive and anti-angina agent. When used as a first line agent or with ACe inhibitor, it is effective in reducing cardiovascular events. It has high selectivity for vascular smooth muscles and possess higher bio-availability.
Amlodipine which is a third generation dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker.
AMLOBIO Tablets can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
- Control of hypertension and angina (chest pain).
- Coronary artery disease: Chronic stable angina and vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal or variant angina) and angiographically documented coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients without heart failure or ejection fraction (EF) <40%.
Stable Angina; Prinzmetal’s Angina
Adults: Initially 5mg OD increased to 10mg OD if necessary.
Hypertension
Adults: Initially 5mg OD increased to 10mg OD if necessary.
Children: (6-17 yr) 5mg OD
Adults: Initially 5mg OD increased to 10mg OD if necessary.
Hypertension
Adults: Initially 5mg OD increased to 10mg OD if necessary.
Children: (6-17 yr) 5mg OD
Amlodipine that inhibits calcium ion influx across cell membranes selectively, with a greater effect on vascular smooth muscle cells. Amlodipine is a peripheral arterial vasodilator that acts directly on vascular smooth muscle to cause a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance and reduction in blood pressure.
