Arena G

(Methylcobalamin 500 mcg + Gabapentin 300 mg Tablets)

Overview:

ARENA-G Tablets contains Methylcobalamin and Gabapentin. Methylcobalamin is the neurologically active form of Vitamin B12, used by the enzyme methionine synthase to turn homocysteine into methionine. Methionine is further converted to the important methyl donor, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe).

Gabapentin interacts with cortical neurons at auxillary subunits of voltage-sensitive calcium channels. Gabapentin has high lipid solubility.

Methylcobalamin is a cobalamin, active form of Vitamin B12. Gabapentin is an analog of GABA.
Single dose of ARENA-G Tablet on day 1. Two ARENA-G Tablets on day 2. Three ARENA-G Tablets on day 3. The dose may then be uptitrated upto 2 tablets, 3 times a day.
ARENA-G Tablet can be used in the treatment of neuropathic disorder or seizure disorder. It is used to treat nerve pain conditions, including peripheral neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia and diabetic neuropathy.
Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin) or Vitamin B12 is normally involved in several metabolisms such as DNA synthesis and regulation, fatty acid synthesis, and energy production. It is a coenzyme of methionine synthase, which is required for the formation of methionine from homocysteine in the methylation cycle which involves methylation of DNA or proteins. Compared with other analogs, Mecobalamin is the most effective one in being uptaken by subcellular organelles of neurons. Therefore, Mecobalamin may provide better treatments for nervous disorders through effective systemic or local delivery.
Gabapentin increases the synaptic concentration of GABA, enhances GABA responses at non-synaptic sites in neuronal tissues, and reduces the release of mono-amine neurotransmitters.
