Overview of Metoprolol Tablets:
CHESPRO Tablets contains Metoprolol. Metoprolol provides consistent beta(1)-blockade over the 24-hour dosing interval. Metoprolol improves survival in CHF and is well tolerated. It lowers the mortality in patients with decreased ejection fraction and symptoms of heart failure.
Metoprolol is a selective β1 receptor blocker.
CHESPRO Tablets can be used in the treatment of following conditions:
- Hypertension.
- Long term treatment of angina pectoris.
- Myocardial infarction.
- Stable symptomatic (NYHA Class II or III) heart failure of ischemic, hypertensive, or cardiomyopathic origin.
- Migraine headaches.
One CHESPRO Tablet once or twice daily or as directed by Physician.
Metoprolol competes with adrenergic neurotransmitters such as catecholamines for binding at beta(1)-adrenergic receptors in the heart. Beta(1)-receptor blockade results in a decrease in heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure.
