(Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% + Miconazole Nitrate 2% Cream)
Overview:
FUNGIFITE Cream contains Clobetasol Propionate which has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties and Miconazole Nitrate prevents fungal organisms from producing vital substances required for their growth and function. This medication is effective only for infections caused by fungal organisms.
FUNGIFITE Cream can be used in the treatment of following skin conditions:
Corticosteroid reponsive dermatoses, athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and other fungal skin infections (candidiasis), pityriasis (tinea versicolor).
Direction for Use:
Apply FUNGIFITE Cream to the affected area(s) once or twice daily or as directed by Physician.
Clobetasol Propionate is thought to act by the induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins, collectively called lipocortins. It is postulated that these proteins control the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting the release of their common precursor arachidonic acid.
Miconazole is ergosterol an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, inhibition of its synthesis results in increased cellular permeability causing leakage of cellular contents.
