OLMEDON Tablets contains Olmesartan medoxomil which is an effective, fast-acting, and well tolerated antihypertensive agent that can be administered once daily. At recommended doses, it is significantly more effective at reducing BP than several other agents of its class. Thus, olmesartan medoxomil represents a good option for the initial intensive treatment of patients with hypertension.
Olmesartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB).
OLMEDON Tablets can be used in the treatment of Hypertension.
One OLMEDON Tablet once daily, with or without food, or as directed by Physician.
Olmesartan is an ARB (Angiotensin Receptor Blocker) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor, which is found in many tissues such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal glands. This effectively inhibits the AT1-mediated vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II and results in a decrease in vascular resistance and blood pressure.
