Antuc-IT (Rabeprazole 20 mg + Itopride 150 mg Sustained Release Capsules)

Overview:

ANTUC-IT Capsules contains Rabeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor and Itopride which has a prokinetic action.
Rabeprazole blocks the final step in the acid secretion. It works at a broader range of stomach pH. For these reasons, it may work for longer than other PPIs. Itopride is a prokinetic benzamide derivative which inhibits dopamine and exerts gastrokinetic action.

Rabeprazole belong to the class of proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Itopride is a dopamine D2 antagonist with acetylcholinesterase inhibitory actions.

ANTUC-IT Capsules can be used in the treatment of following conditions:

  • GERD and Dyspepsia
  • Gastric and duodenal ulcer
  • Delayed gastric emptying
  • Heartburn, regurgitation, bloating, nausea and vomiting
  • Other possible gastric, prolactin, or dopamine related conditions
  • Helicobacter pylori eradication
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Adults: One ANTUC-IT Capsule once daily.

Rabeprazole suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase (H+, K+-ATPase) enzyme system found at the secretory surface of parietal cells.

Itopride has anticholinesterase (AchE) activity as well as dopamine D2 receptor antagonistic activity. It increases acetylcholine concentrations by inhibiting dopamine D2 receptors and acetylcholinesterase. Higher acetylcholine increases GI peristalsis, increase lower esophageal sphincter pressure, stimulates gastric motility, accelerates gastric emptying and improves gastro-duodenal coordination.
