Overview of Etoricoxib + Thiocolchicoside Tablets:
ETONIS-TH Tablets contains Etoricoxib and Thiocolchicoside. Like any other COX-2 selective inhibitor Etoricoxib selectively inhibits isoform 2 of cyclo-oxygenase enzyme (COX-2). This reduces prostaglandins (PGs) generation from arachidonic acid. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It is semi-synthetic derivatives of naturally occuring compound colchicoside. Thiocolchicoside acts against gamma amino butyric acid (GAMA).
Etoricoxib belongs to the class of NSAIDs. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant.
ETONIS-TH Tablets can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
- Orthopedic, traumatological and rheumatologic disorders
- Muscular spasms, chronic low back pain.
- Pain and swelling suffered by individuals with medical conditions: Rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout.
One ETONIS-TH Tablet daily or as directed by Physician.
Etoricoxib works to relieve pain and inflammation by blocking an enzyme cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2). Thiocolchicoside (TCC) is used clinically for its muscle relaxant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties, and it has been shown to interact with gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) type A receptors.
