Overview of Clopidogrel + Aspirin Tablets:

CHESPOL-A Tablets contains Clopidogrel and Aspirin. The combination is superior compared to either drug alone. Clopidogrel was shown to be a safe and efficacious medication for secondary prevention of vascular events.

Clopidogrel is a thienopyridine-class antiplatelet agent and Aspirin is a salicylate & nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
CHESPOL-A Tablets can be used in the treatment of following conditions:

  • Acute Coronary Syndrome
  • Prevention of thrombosis after placement of an coronary stent
  • Transient Ischemic Attack or minor ischemic stroke.

Prevention of ischaemic events-
Adult: One CHESPOL-A Tablet once daily.
Acute coronary syndrome-
Adults: Loading dose- Four CHESPOL-A Tablets; Maintenance- One CHESPOL-A Tablet daily.

Clopidogrel selectively inhibits the binding of adenosine diphosphate to its platelet receptor and the subsequent ADP-mediated activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex, thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation.

Aspirin inhibits the formation of thromboxane A2 in the platelets. This inhibits platelet aggregation and coagulation. This action lasts until the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase is regenerated in the platelets.
