(Amoxicillin 250 mg + Dicloxacillin 250 mg Capsules)
DISCLOXY Capsules contains Amoxicillin and Dicloxacillin. Dicloxacillin exerts a bactericidal action against penicillin-susceptible microorganisms during the state of active multiplication.
Amoxicillin is broad-spectrum semisynthetic antibiotic. Dicloxacillin is a beta-lactamase resistant penicillin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as penicillins.
DISCLOXY Capsules are used in the treatment of the following conditions:
- Infection of ear, nose and throat
- Urinary tract infection
- Skin and Skin structure infection
- Lower respiratory infection
- Acute and uncomplicated gonorrhea
One DISCLOXY Capsule 3-4 times daily depending upon the type, site and severity of infections.
Penicillin inhibit the biosynthesis of the bacterial cell wall. By binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, Dicloxacillin inhibits the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis.
