FLAKEFREE Shampoo contains Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione. Ketoconazole is a broad spectrum, antimycotic agent that is active against both Candida and M. furfur. Among all the imidazoles, Ketoconazole has become the leading contender among treatment options because of its effectiveness in treating seborrheic dermatitis as well. Zinc pyrithione (ZPT) that inhibits fungal growth through increased cellular levels of copper, damaging iron-sulphur clusters of proteins essential for fungal metabolism.
Ketoconazole is imidazole antifungal drug. Zinc pyrithione (ZPT) is fungistatic and bacteriostatic.
Apply FLAKEFREE Shampoo topically to the affected areas. It is for external use only. It is usually applied 1 or 2 times per day, as determined by the doctor.
