Vanconis
(Vancomycin 500 mg Injection)

Overview:
VANCONIS Injection contains Vancomycin. It is effective against gram-positive bacteria and has been known to be effective against resistant strains of MRSA.
Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic.
VANCONIS Injection can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
- Pseudomembranous Colitis/Staphylococcal Enterocolitis (C. difficile, S. enterocolitis)
- Endocarditis (staphylococcal, streptococcal, and diphtheroid endocarditis)
- Preoperative Antimicrobial Prophylaxis (Gastrointestinal [GI] and genitourinary [GU] procedures)
- Surgical Prophylaxis (Prophylaxis of infection in cardiac, thoracic, and arterial procedures; craniotomy; joint replacement; amputation)
One VANCONIS Injection IV every 6 hours or 1 g IV every 12 hours, or as directed by Physician.
Vancomycin inhibits cell wall synthesis by binding to the D-Ala-D-Ala terminus of of peptidoglycan pentapeptide, which as a result inhibits transglycosylase, preventing peptidoglycan elongation and cross-linking.
