Cefuroxime Axetil belongs to the class of second generation broad- spectrum Cephalosporins.
Adults: 250mg to 1g CEFUNIS Tablets daily in divided doses for a duration of 5-10 days, or as directed by Physician.
CEFUNIS Tablets can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
- Pharyngitis, Tonsillitis, Sinusitis, Acute bacterial Otitis Media
- Pneumonia, Chronic Bronchitis
- Acute exacerbation of COPD
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Uncomplicated UTI and gonorrhea
Cefuroxime Axetil is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic resistant to beta-lactamase. By binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, it inhibits the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cell lysis is then mediated by bacterial cell wall autolytic enzymes such as autolysins.
