Overview:
Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic widely used to treat serious bacterial infections, particularly those caused by anaerobic bacteria and Gram-positive organisms. It is effective against a variety of infections, including skin, bone, and intra-abdominal infections. Clindamycin is also used for treating bacterial infections in patients allergic to penicillin. Due to its ability to penetrate deep tissues, it is often recommended for severe cases requiring targeted antibiotic therapy.
Clindamycin is a semisynthetic lincosamide antibiotic.
