Overview:
TAZONIS Injection contains Piperacillin and Tazobactam. The combination distributes rapidly after parenteral administration and penetrates well into skin, lung, and intestinal mucosa. Compared with other beta-lactam-beta-lactamase inhibitor combinations, Piperacillin-Tazobactam has comparable efficacy in the treatment of intraabdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and upper and lower respiratory tract infections.
Piperacillin is a broad-spectrum β-lactam antibiotic of the ureidopenicillin class.
Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor.
Infuse one TAZONIS Injection over 30 minutes every 6 hrs for 7–14 days, or as directed by Physician.
TAZONIS Injections can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
Piperacillin exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting septum formation and cell-wall synthesis of susceptible bacteria. Tazobactam broadens the spectrum of Piperacillin by making it effective against organisms that express beta-lactamase.
