HYPART Tablets contains Losartan used to treat hypertension. Losartan regimens are well tolerated, including in those on hemodialysis. Losartan potassium is effective as a once-daily antihypertensive agent.

Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist.

One HYPART Tablet once daily with or without food, or as directed by Physician.
The dose should be increased to 100 mg once daily based on blood pressure response and type of condition.

HYPART Tablets can be used in the treatment of following conditions:

Hypertension.
To reduce the risk of stroke in hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy.
Diabetic Neuropathy in Type II Diabetes and history of hypertension.

Losartan competitively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptor in many tissues including vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal glands. Inhibition of angiotensin II binding to AT1 receptor inhibits its AT1-mediated vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects and results in decreased vascular resistance and blood pressure.
