NOCLOGER

Overview:

Nocloger is a potent statin medication containing Atorvastatin, designed to effectively lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events. It works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the enzyme responsible for cholesterol production in the liver, thus lowering LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) while improving HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol). Nocloger is used for the management of hyperlipidemia and in the prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD) such as heart attack, stroke, and peripheral artery disease.

  • Mechanism of action

Statins (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors)

Starting Dose: 10 mg or 20 mg once daily, depending on the patient’s condition.

Maintenance Dose: 10 mg to 80 mg once daily, adjusted based on cholesterol goals and individual response.

Maximum Dose: 80 mg daily.

  • Primary Hyperlipidemia – To reduce elevated cholesterol levels, including total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides.
  • Mixed Dyslipidemia – To treat elevated total cholesterol and triglycerides.
  • Prevention of Cardiovascular Events – Reduces the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and the need for revascularization procedures.
  • Prevention of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) – In individuals with risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, and a family history of heart disease.

Nocloger (Atorvastatin) works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme in the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway in the liver. This inhibition reduces the synthesis of cholesterol, particularly LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein), and increases the clearance of LDL from the bloodstream. Additionally, it increases HDL cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein) levels and lowers triglyceride levels, improving overall lipid profiles and reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and subsequent cardiovascular events
