OLMEXOL

Overview:

Olmexol contains Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). By selectively blocking the angiotensin II type 1 receptor, Olmesartan helps in relaxing blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing the workload on the heart. Olmexol™ is also indicated for the prevention of stroke, heart attack, and kidney disease in patients with hypertension, offering long-lasting antihypertensive effects with once-daily dosing.

  • Hypertension (Essential Hypertension) – To lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.
  • Chronic Kidney Disease – Particularly in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes to protect kidney function.
  • Stroke Prevention – Reduces the risk of strokes in hypertensive patients.
  • Heart Failure – Helps improve heart function and reduce symptoms in patients with heart failure.

Olmexol (Olmesartan Medoxomil) works by selectively blocking the angiotensin II type 1 receptor, which is involved in vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. By inhibiting this receptor, Olmesartan effectively reduces vasoconstriction and aldosterone release, leading to dilation of blood vessels and a reduction in blood pressure. This also helps in decreasing the strain on the heart, making Olmexol™ effective in managing hypertension and improving long-term cardiovascular health.
