VASORTA H

Overview:

Vasorta H is a combination tablet of Telmisartan (40 mg) and Hydrochlorothiazide, designed for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), works by blocking the effects of a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict, thereby helping to lower blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, reduces excess fluid by increasing urination, further helping to lower blood pressure. This dual-action therapy effectively manages hypertension and provides additional cardiovascular protection

Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs) + Thiazide Diuretics

1 tablet daily (Telmisartan 40 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide) for hypertension.

Adjustments: Based on the individual response, a doctor may adjust the dosage

  • Essential Hypertension – For the treatment of primary hypertension to lower blood pressure in adults.
  • Hypertension with Volume Overload – Indicated for patients with hypertension and concomitant fluid retention, improving control over blood pressure and edema.
  • Reduction of Cardiovascular Risk – Reduces the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure in hypertensive patients with additional cardiovascular risk factors.

Telmisartan (40 mg): As an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, leading to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), decreasing blood pressure, and improving blood flow.Hydrochlorothiazide: This thiazide diuretic acts on the kidneys to increase excretion of sodium and water, helping to reduce blood volume, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing the risk of edema (fluid retention).
