Overview:
Vancomycin is a powerful glycopeptide antibiotic used to treat serious Gram-positive infections, including MRSA. It is often reserved for severe infections that do not respond to other antibiotics. Vancomycin is administered intravenously for systemic infections and orally for Clostridium difficile-associated colitis.
