Overview:
Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, thereby preventing bacterial replication and reducing symptoms like redness, irritation, and discharge. Studies have shown its efficacy in bacterial conjunctivitis with a 92% resolution rate (J Cataract Refract Surg, 2018).
