Overview:
Loteprednol 0.05% w/v + Tobramycin 0.3% w/v a combination therapy providing corticosteroid-mediated anti-inflammatory action along with a broad-spectrum antibiotic to effectively treat eye infections with associated inflammation. A study in Ocul Immunol Inflamm (2019) reported a 90% resolution rate in bacterial keratitis cases.
Corticosteroid + Antibiotic
1 drop 3-4 times daily
Lotriday-T can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
Bacterial conjunctivitis with associated inflammation
Post-operative ocular inflammation with risk of infection
Contact lens-associated keratitis
Blepharokeratoconjunctivitis
Loteprednol suppresses inflammation by inhibiting phospholipase A2, while Tobramycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, binds irreversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
