Overview:
Tramadol is a centrally acting synthetic opioid analgesic with a unique dual mechanism of action that makes it highly effective for moderate to severe pain management. Unlike traditional opioids, tramadol exhibits a multimodal approach by combining opioid receptor agonism with monoaminergic modulation, making it particularly useful in postoperative, neuropathic, and chronic pain conditions.
This formulation, Tramadol 2ml Injection, is a parenteral preparation designed for rapid onset of action, making it an essential option in both acute pain relief and perioperative care.
Opioid Analgesic (Centrally Acting)
Trany Tablets can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
Moderate to severe pain management (postoperative pain, trauma, chronic pain).
Neuropathic pain.
Pain in conditions where NSAIDs are not recommended (e.g., GI ulcers, kidney disease).
Adjunct in anesthesia or post-surgical recovery.
Route of Administration: IV, IM, or slow infusion
Recommended Dosage:
Acute pain relief: 50–100 mg IV/IM every 4–6 hours as needed
Maximum daily dose: 400 mg/day
Tramadol works through a dual mechanism:
Opioid receptor agonism: Tramadol binds weakly to mu-opioid receptors (μ-receptors), providing analgesic effects.
Monoamine reuptake inhibition: It inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, enhancing pain modulation at the spinal level.
